Job Summary:
As a Principal Analog Mixed-Signal Design Engineer, you will play a strategic and technical leadership role in the development of next-generation precision timing circuits. You’ll leverage deep expertise in analog/mixed-signal design to drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring high-performance, low-power solutions to market. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer ready to make a broad impact on innovative MEMS-based timing technology used across communications, mobile, and infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of complex analog and mixed-signal blocks, ensuring alignment with system architecture and performance targets
- Define circuit architecture in collaboration with systems and product teams
- Perform in-depth simulations and analysis (pre and post-layout) with full consideration for design for test (DFT) and manufacturability (DFM)
- Provide technical guidance and reviews for schematic and layout work, ensuring best-in-class design practices
- Act as a mentor to junior and senior engineers, fostering technical growth and innovation
- Lead design reviews, documentation, and technical sign-off processes for major circuit blocks
- Collaborate closely with layout, test, product, and applications teams to drive successful silicon validation
- Contribute to roadmap planning, IP reuse strategy, and overall design methodology improvement
- Represent the team in technical discussions with stakeholders and influence key project decisions
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of experience, or M.S. with 10+ years of relevant analog/mixed-signal design experience
- Proven track record of first-silicon success and volume production of complex analog/mixed-signal ICs
- Expert-level understanding of CMOS analog design and noise analysis
- Deep technical leadership in at least two of the following areas:
- High-performance PLLs (Integer-N/Fractional-N)
- Sigma-Delta ADCs and DACs
- Temperature sensors
- High-speed I/O and drivers
- Ultra-low-power or sub-threshold circuits
- Low-noise regulators, bandgap references
- MEMS/quartz oscillator-based timing circuits
- Strong capability in top-level integration and system-level impact evaluation
- Proficiency with Cadence analog design environment and scripting tools (e.g., MATLAB, VerilogA)
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and mentor engineering teams
- Excellent documentation, presentation, and communication skills
