Position: 6G Network Architecture Standards Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Role

Next-Generation Network & AI Research:
Drive forward-thinking research and innovation in 6G network architecture, with a strong focus on AI-native networks, agent-based intelligence, and future-oriented system design.

Industry Standards Contribution:
Actively participate in system architecture work within international standardization bodies such as 3GPP and ETSI. Represent the company’s positions and contribute to shaping frameworks around 6G, AI/ML integration, and related technical topics.

Thought Leadership & Technical Direction:
Lead the development of technical proposals and contributions. Engage in high-level discussions on architecture evolution, and support alignment across global initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Act as a mentor and advisor to internal teams. Provide insights into emerging standards, key technology trends, and the impact of AI/ML on network design. Help shape internal R&D strategy through knowledge of external ecosystem developments.

Your Profile

  • PhD (or equivalent experience) in telecommunications, computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated involvement in 3GPP or other relevant standardization forums, with experience as a delegate or active technical contributor.
  • Strong expertise in 5G network architecture, including 5GC, service-based architecture (SBA), network slicing, and interface protocols.
  • In-depth understanding of 6G use cases, architectural frameworks, and enabling technologies.
  • Solid foundation in AI/ML, with familiarity in areas like foundation models and agentic AI. Hands-on experience with tools such as Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially in multinational or cross-industry environments.
  • Experience collaborating on cutting-edge R&D projects, ideally in partnership with industry, academia, or standardization bodies.
